Namely, taking care of the buffing screw up from the dealer’s body shop. They wet sanded and buffed the hood to “take care” of their previous screw up of dirt in the paint, once the rain washed away their leftover buffing compound I was left with a hood full of wet sanding marks.

So away I went:

This of course got me thinking “Why not just buff the whole van?”.

So I did as there were random small scratches and such that I knew would buff right out. After buffing I laid a coat of Race Glaze on it and called it a day.

Now it looks like brand new again:

Not a wet sanding mark to be seen.

What happened with the oil consumption issue?

Another dealer issue.

The “tech” overfilled the oil by about a quart. The giant plume we saw was the excess burning off. I checked the oil that day to find it was still about a 1/2 quart overfull. I drained some out so it was at the correct level and it hasn’t used a drop since.

I wish there was one decent shop around here I could have work done, but it seems everyone is an incompetent twat around here, so apparently I’ll be doing the work on this myself also.

Fucking twats....someone overtorqued my outer ball joint to a arms joint as well and now im having to change the a arms completely coz its fubar.

I’m n ever trusting anyone else to work on my car...

You would think that if adding oil was your job you could at least do a less then half assed job. I feel the same as you, I no longer trust my local dealer mechanic.

Your ONLY job is oil changes, if you can’t do it right WHY DO YOU STILL HAVE A JOB!

Same goes for the body shop that did the hood repair, their only job is body work and they can’t even match my garage paint jobs quality, HOW ARE YOU STILL IN BUSINESS!?!?!

Maybe down the road when the warranty is out I’ll do something crazy, but likely just keep it as is.
